Duke of Edinburgh
Malden Oaks School offer our students opportunities to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award that further helps to develop attributes that are already a core focus of our provision: Attachment, Altruism, Autonomy and Achievement.
Through a series of challenges, that are supported and recognised by the DofE, students can gain credits towards an award that is recognised by colleges universities and employers.
Further information about the scheme can be found on the Duke of Edinburgh website.
This academic year, students are taking part in two D of E sessions per week to work towards their Bronze Award. One session for the physical element and one for the skills element. From boxing, jewellery making, card games, outdoor challenges and water sports to bowling, gym sessions and cooking for life, our students have been having great fun, whilst learning new skills and adding hours to their award.
