As well as being an acronym, we also chose this name for its South African meaning: MOOT n. A system of arbitration in which the primary goal is to settle a dispute and reintegrate adversaries into society
MOOT is the outreach service for Malden Oaks School. We support schools by providing opportunities for students to participate in our established and successful MOOT programmes and for teachers to work together in highly evaluated training and free networks.
We offer a one-day a week programmes for KS3 and a one-day a week programme for year 11 for students who are at risk of disengaging from education. Students gain a range of qualifications from outstanding local providers such as Albany Park.
Training for teachers can take place at our Ham site or in your school. We offer school-based courses for all ages and stages designed to promote inclusive practice.
Networks are free and are located in our Ham site. There is a focus on improving mental health, developing resilience and exploring the barriers to engagement. For further information on all of the above (including costs and dates).
Please see our MOOT website for further details.
